On Friday, three Machakos County government employees are scheduled to appear in court on allegations of embezzling public monies.

The three individuals who work together at the Machakos County Referral Hospital are charged with embezzlement from the facility.

They work as hospital cashiers, nursing assistants, and nurses. They were subsequently let go.

Health Executive Daniel Yumbya claims that the three were taken into custody following their receipt of Ksh. 10,000 from a patient.

Since then, Dr. Yumbya has warned county officials to stay away from theft and warned that those found will face consequences.
