9 counties to experience electrical outages, Kenya Power

On Wednesday evening, Kenya Power declared that nine counties would have scheduled power outages.

An announcement from the electricity company said that counties including Makueni, Laikipia, Nyeri, West Pokot, Kisumu, Migori, Mombasa, Kirinyaga, and Kiambu will be impacted by the disruptions that are predicted for today, Thursday, October 19, 2023.

The scheduled times for the power outages are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The entire Kathonzweni region in Makueni County will be without power from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Makueni Boys & Girls, Governors Offices, Wote Huduma Center, County Assembly, Wote Technical Training Institute, Nyunzu, ENI Kenya Malivani, Unoa S/Centre, Sinai, Kwa Kathoka, and surrounding consumers are among the areas that may be impacted.

Additionally, Kenya Power stated that the planned disruptions will also affect neighboring customers and parts of Sultan Town, as well as the Sultan Police, Holy Ghost Schools, Kalimbini, Ngokomi, Kwothithu, Kiongwani, Kima, Kiu, Salama, Kautandini, Malili, Enzai, Nunguni, Kilungu, Kavatanzou, and part of Sultan Town.

The entire community of Mukima, KHE Farm, a portion of the Mayan Hotel, Nturukuma, Councillor Kogi, a portion of Lunatic, Likii Farm, Kwa Mwaura, Nyariginu, Murungai, Mwireri, and other nearby clients will be impacted by the scheduled disruptions in Laikipia County, which are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

A portion of Jomvu, including places like Icolo, Synergy, Kuehne Nagel, Crown Petroleum Ltd, Shreej, Bayusuf, Petro City, Shell, Transtrailers, Apparel EPZ, Fehmi Nail Works, Jitono, Hakika Transporters, Road Tainers, Southern Shipping, Total Petrol Stn, Zaire Bar, Kwa Bendube, Jomvu, Kuu, Jitoni, and neighboring customers, will be impacted by the scheduled blackout in Mombasa County, according to Kenya Power. The blackout is expected to last from 9 am to 5 pm.

Kiambu County’s scheduled blackout, which is scheduled to last from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will impact locations like Gachie, Kihara Hosp, Njakai, Kagongo, Karura Kanyungu, Wangunyu Girls, and Stage Nane.

While blackouts will occur in locations like OJ, prisons, and Superfoam from 8.30 am to 5 pm, Kiambu’s anticipated disruptions would also impact Ondiri, Lusigeti, Croton, and Muthaite neighborhoods from 8 am to 5 pm.

The planned outages in Kisumu County are scheduled to happen from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the following locations: Masogo, Nyakoko, Amilo, Kasongo, Onyalobiro, Ombeyi, Ruutek, Kango, Kambara, Chemursoi, Kabar, Kadongo, Kolal, Keyo, Wagogni, Ramula, and surrounding consumers.

In the same vein, power outages would affect inhabitants of Nyeri County’s Ngandu, Kiawanduha, Kiamaina, Magogoini, Unjiru, Grand Kago, Kanjata, Kiawarigi, Ichuga Sec, and Gathumbi regions from 9 am to 4 pm.

Kirinyaga County will be without power from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the blackout.

Likewise, the anticipated disruptions in Migori County are scheduled to occur between 9 am and 3 pm.
