9 Pupils Hospitalized After Falling Off Tree in Nandi
On Wednesday, 9 pupils from Keteng Primary School in Nandi Hills were hospitalized after falling from a tree while gathering fruit within the school grounds.
It is said that one of the branches that the students had stepped on fractured, causing them to fall and injure other students who were under the tree.
Some of the learners have been treated and discharged. A severely injured pupil is being observed in the hospital.
According to Nandi Hills County Hospital Medical Superintendent Richard Chepkwony, who confirmed the incident, the children are in good health and have responded positively to treatment.
Man Charged with Defiling a 14-year-Old Schoolgirl

A man in his early forties has been charged with defiling a 14-year-old girl before.
Enos Bolei appeared before Kabarnet Senior Resident Magistrate Edwin Mulochi on the allegation of attempted defilement in violation of Section 9 (1) (2) of the Sexual Offence Act No.3 of 2006.
In addition, he was charged with violating Section 11 of the Sexual Offenses Act No. 3 of 2006 by engaging in an indecent act with a minor.
According to the charge sheet, the accused knowingly and unlawfully attempted to defile a known complainant on July 23, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the Riwo village of the Baringo central sub-county.
The court was informed that the defendant was arrested on July 24 and moved to the Kabarnet police station prior to his arraignment. The defendant pled not guilty to the allegations.
Mulochi ordered his release on a Ksh 100,000 bond with an equivalent surety pending a hearing and determination of the case.
The case will be mentioned on August 10, and on October 4, eight witnesses are scheduled to testify at the hearing.
