Bold driver delivers thugs at police station after hijacking his car

When he violently stopped an attempted robbery in Juja Township, Kiambu County, a taxi driver came dangerously close to a potentially fatal situation.

The driver’s quick thinking and the Kasarani Police’s prompt response to the incident, which happened on Sunday at around 12:00 p.m., resulted in the arrest of three suspects.

Peter Katheca, the victim, got a ride request from someone named Kelvin Muriithi.

He had no idea that this seemingly ordinary trip would become a potentially fatal encounter.

While traveling on the Thika Super Highway through the Githurai region, the passenger’s accomplices—two men and a woman—exposed their evil plans.

These objects were taken as vital evidence in the ongoing investigation, even though they were meant to be used for potentially fatal purposes.

The suspects, identified as 22-year-old Kelvin Muriithi Nyaga, 23-year-old Julius Mbithi, and 19-year-old Joy Mumbi Nyaga, are presently being held by the lawful police.

They are going through the proper procedures, and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kasarani will handle their court filings.

The driver’s courageous actions prevented a potentially fatal situation and demonstrated the value of public awareness in maintaining community safety.

DCI Kasarani is leading the investigation, and the recovered items will be kept as exhibits in the case.
