Microsoft has declared that they will cease providing updates to Windows 10, making 2H22 the final version available to users.

Nevertheless, Microsoft will keep issuing security updates for the operating system until its end-of-support date in October 2025.

It is essential to mention that particular versions on the Long-Term Servicing Channel will continue to receive updates from Microsoft, even after the above-mentioned date.

Earlier this year, Microsoft started the process of phasing out Windows 10 by discontinuing the sale of Windows 10 Home and Pro licenses. To avoid any potential issues in the future, Microsoft strongly advises Windows 10 users to upgrade to Windows 11.

Microsoft is still providing updates to Windows 11, such as the recent Windows 11 22H2 Moment 2 update, which introduced numerous new features and significant enhancements.

There have been rumors circulating that Microsoft is currently developing Windows 12. Some speculate that the addition of the new Canary channel to the Windows Insider program is a covert method for Microsoft to experiment with new features for the upcoming operating system.
