‘Don’t complain, you elected the wrong person’, Lugari MP to Bungoma residents

Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio, and Nabii Nabwera, the member of parliament for Lugari, have taken offense with Bungoma residents for requesting assistance with the rising cost of life.

Speaking on Saturday in Bungoma, the Lugari MP criticized the locals for their voting decisions and accused them of helping to elect President William Ruto with a landslide in the 2022 presidential contest.

Nabwera said it was unjust for the locals to ask for his assistance after failing to support Raila in the election.

President William Ruto received 229,409 votes from Bungoma County in the August 2022 general elections, accounting for 63.15 percent of the total votes cast in the county.

Ruto went on to win by a margin of 233,211 votes in the presidential contest.

The area came together in support of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, who was also running for the Senate seat and supporting President William Ruto.

Kakamega County resident Nabwera pointed out that Bungoma votes were necessary for Ruto to win the election.

Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio, has criticized the Kenya Kwanza government for how it has run the economy and the nation.

After three months of listening to Kenyans and other stakeholders discuss a range of topics, including how to reduce the cost of living, the teams from Azimio and Kenya Kwanza Bipartisan Talks have withdrawn to prepare their report.

President William Ruto and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga are scheduled to see the report before it is sent to Parliament for debate.
