KeNHA declares a three-day shutdown of a portion of the Uhuru Highway

Due to planned maintenance, the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has declared a three-day traffic interruption on a portion of the Uhuru Highway.

On Thursday, October 19, the authorities announced to the public that the Mombasa Bound lanes of the bustling Uhuru Highway will be temporarily closed from Haile Selassie to Bunyala roundabouts.

From Thursday, October 19, 2023, through Saturday, October 21, 2023, the impacted part will be closed.

It is recommended that drivers traveling in the direction of the Mombasa Road exit at the Haile Selassie roundabout, share the Nairobi Bound carriageway with other vehicles, and re-enter the Mombasa Bound carriageway at the Bunyala roundabout.

Additionally, drivers have been asked to cooperate with the on-site traffic marshals.

KeNHA is in charge of overseeing the nation’s Class S, A, and B road development, maintenance, and repair.

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) and Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) are two additional road agencies.
