Lady arrested after destroying ex-boyfriend Mercedes, damages amount Ksh207,000

Charges of malicious damage to property have been brought against a 23-year-old woman who allegedly broke into her ex-boyfriend’s Mercedes, causing damage worth Sh207,000, after he refused to let her into his home.

Pamela Macharia is charged with property destruction after it is said that she damaged a Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) vehicle.

The woman had had a brief romance with the detective, but they were now at odds.

Ms. Macharia is charged with smashing a windscreen worth Sh86,000, a car screen worth Sh80,000, a side mirror worth Sh16,000, a rear right tail light for Sh25,000, and a rear light costing Sh25,000 at East Capital Apartments on November 7. The total estimated damage to these items is Sh207,000.

Ms. Macharia offered to go on her own, but the officer phoned the security guards stationed at the apartment complex’s gate to accompany her away.

When the complainant went to investigate after hearing someone hit a metallic object, he discovered Ms. Macharia wrecking his car and running to the parking lot.

She reportedly hurried to the gate when she saw him, but security officers stopped her.

During the course of the inquiry, the detective revealed to his coworkers at the Mowlem Police station that he had broken up with the suspect after three months of dating her.

The cop was one of her customers when they first connected online, and he had purchased multiple things from her before their commercial relationship turned into a romantic one.

However, Ms. Macharia argued that she had been married to the detective for more than three years and refuted the accusations made against her before Makadara Law Courts Senior Principal Magistrate Hellen Okwani.

In order to determine whether Ms. Macharia is pregnant, Ms. Okwani remanded the suspect to the police station and ordered a pregnancy test. She also requested a report from the probation officer to assist in determining the terms of the bond and bail.
