Police in Baringo County are looking for a father accused of killing his two-year-old daughter and then burning the body to conceal the crime.

In order to avoid getting married to the lawyer he had fallen in love with, Alex Kisale is accused of the horrible murder.

The mother, Winnie Cherono, 18, was overcome with grief as she described the incidents over the previous two months that resulted in her daughter becoming missing.

She visited Kisale, the father of her two-year-old, at Sesoi village in Baringo North on August 21, 2023, which is when her ordeal started.

Kisale requested to spend two days with her daughter. The father informed the mother that he had brought the child to his sister’s home when she contacted Kisale the following morning to inquire about her daughter.

The lady tried unsuccessfully to bring her daughter back, so she had to call the police.

Pharmacist Kisale was detained on September 27 and charged at the Kabarnet Court on October 2 before being released on bail.

However, the defendant did not show up in court on October 9 as required by the court when he was meant to deliver the two-year-old.

In anticipation of post-mortem exams, the DCI has retrieved the suspected remains of the minor that were deposited in Saimo Soi Forest.

The suspect, who is still at large, is being demanded to be taken into custody by the family.
