Pastor Ezekiel’s five-day mega-crusade was halted by police in Kilifi

Pastor Ezekiel Odero of the New Life International Centre continued to experience bad luck on Thursday (today), when police in Kilifi for the second time in a week prevented him from holding a five-day mega crusade along the Kilifi-Mombasa route.

According to Kilifi North Sub County Police Commander Kenneth Maina, last week, they were unable to permit the crusade to take place at the Kwa Kenga wa Mumba farm in the Mwezang’ombe area because they had not received the appropriate legal notice in a timely manner.

After police encouraged him to notify them in a timely manner, the preacher decided to postpone his crusade from last week’s Wednesday, September 27, to Sunday, October 1.

Nation was informed by inside sources that the food drive was conducted on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from house to house. On Wednesday, the food was given out to the many worshippers who had shown up for the crusade, which was conducted by Mr. Odero from the morning until around six in the evening.

The preacher received a letter on Thursday morning from the Kilifi North Sub County Police Commander informing him that his request to hold the crusade had been denied due to security concerns.

The preacher’s agents abruptly canceled a news conference that was scheduled without providing an explanation.

He was prohibited from organizing a crusade in Machakos in June by the Interior Ministry. A similar gathering was stopped by authorities in Arusha, Tanzania, a month later.
