Principal of school that topped 2022 KCSE suspended by TSC

Charles Onyari, the principal of Nyambaria High School, has been suspended by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) from his position as Center Manager due to claims that he participated in exam manipulation.

The news department has received reports that link the suspension to possible exam misconduct.

Students nationwide are presently completing their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in Form Four.

An institution teacher reports that Wednesday’s tests proceeded normally.

To ascertain the veracity of the accusations, the TSC will look into the charges.

Nyambaria High School gained media attention in January 2023 when it announced remarkable results in the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam.

The school performed significantly better than last year, when it scored 9.3086, with a mean score of 10.8975 out of 12. These are the provisional results.

With 383 students receiving a grade A (minus) and 28 students receiving a grade A (plain), the school’s pupils fared remarkably well, totaling 411, or 84.22% of the candidates.

The school was the target of numerous calls for probes after the remarkable findings.

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, however, rejected the claims of cheating as propaganda.

The Cabinet Secretary praised the headmaster, whom he called a performer, and defended the results published by Nyambaria High School.
