woman found in Maua after being abducted in Nairobi

A woman who was kidnapped on Likoni Road in Nairobi last week has been found safe and sound in Kachiongo, on the outskirts of Maua town.

On October 12, 2023, Shakara Adan Hassan was kidnapped as she traveled by cab from Eastleigh to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The driver of the car that was following them halted the cab that she was riding in.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) claims that when the vehicle was stopped, two of its occupants—posing as police officers—ordered Shakara to board their car and leave the taxi driver at the scene while they drove to Shauri Moyo police station for questioning.

Detectives from the DCI Nairobi regional headquarters, DCI Makadara, DCI Imenti North, and DCI Igembe Central coordinated the operation that resulted in the capture of Abdullahi Mohamed Guled, the main suspect connected to the kidnapping of Shakara.

Additionally, a car believed to have been used in the kidnapping has been found.

While efforts to find the other suspects are ongoing, the victim was brought to the hospital for medical examinations.
