Workers who supported UDA lament after being fired from their jobs

Workers from Embu County stormed the county headquarters on Thursday in protest of the recent round of mass layoffs.

About 99 workers’ contracts were allegedly not renewed by the county administration without a good justification, according to the workers’ accusations.

The workers demanded that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua step in right once to stop the arbitrary sackings and return their employment.

The employees claim that the county government fired them without cause and then hired new people from outside the county.

Thus, the laid-off workers blamed the county administration for not prioritizing them in the hiring process.
